Sewing Machine & Class Solutions
I LOVE finding products that help make my sewing and quilting easier, especially when taking my machine back and forth from home to attend or teach classes. Tutto has a great item for carrying your sewing machine and supplies that is so easy, quick and lightweight that you’ll be amazed! Not only does it look nice, it is strong, colorful and easy to use!
It is called “Machine On Wheels” by Tutto. This particular case is made for your sewing machine! It will hold all of your tools, fabrics, and threads for any class or just buy one for storing your machine at home. It turns on a dime, it’s easy to lift, it’s light to pull, it has top and side openings, and it folds down to 3″! Just amazing. You’ll never have to carry your machine again!
I love all of the storage space! and how easy it is to get into the case!
This case comes in 6 different colors, but the green color is my favorite! Check them out!
enjoy! Denise
New Thread Find!
Hi everyone,
I have been so impressed with the new thread that Sulky came out with, called “Blendables.” The colors are wonderful and so pretty! There are 84 colors of the cotton blendables. These colors are more compatible with your cotton quilt. Because they come in heavier 12 wt. and 30 wt. they are more visible while, at the same time, more blendable with all of today’s most popular fabric lines, since they randomly change colors every 2-1/2″ to 5″. Available in two sizes.
Here is a sample to show just how great the blendables look on plain fabric, think how they will look on your printed fabrics!
Sulky also has a new product called, “Tender Touch” it is a lightweight, permanent stabilizer that is great for covering the back of your machine embroidery designs. It protects your sensitive skin from the stitches. It can also be used for all your delicate fabrics, as a stabilizer! What an awesome product! Thanks Sulky!
Sulky even has a new instruction book called, “An Updated Supplement to Sulky’s Secrets to Successful Stabilizing.” check it out and make your quilts shine!
There is another product that I have fallen in love with and it is a tool called, “Deelybob II.” This tool is a companion piece to those cones and king spools of thread that just don’t fit on your sewing machine post. All of those different-sized spools and cones of thread will fit on the many configurations of the Deelybob II. This tool is an adapter that allows you to use the larger cones. Simply place the Quilting Bob on your upright spindle and slide the spool onto it. For $20.00 you can’t beat easy!
the Deelybob II is in the center of the photo, above. Photo shows all of the threads that will fit on the tool.
Sewing, Quilting and Embroidery never had it so easy!!!

NEW Products for Quilters!!
Okay—I wanted to let all of you know that I just saw the brand NEW “Accuquilt studio,” and the “Accuquilt Go!” These two items make cutting patchwork pieces as easy as waving your hand. (I’d say as easy as pie, but that is not so true for many of us!) haha.
The Accuquilt is a fabric cutting system that’s safe, easy to use, completely accurate and 90% faster than conventional cutting. Just place a specially designed quilt die on the cutter tray, then layer any fabric on top and turn the easy-roll handle. You’ll get multiples of your quilt shape in seconds. AND if you put the fabrics on Right Sides Together, you are ready to sew!!!
I asked about cutting pieces with iron on fusible interfacing or fusible webbing and they said, YES!!!
The Studio model is for use at home—
Many other “dies” are available!
And the Go! model is for on the go, like classes, etc.
The only drawback, that I see, is that you are limited to the “dies” to cut with. If you need a speciality cut, then you’ll be using your regular rotary cutting tools. Although, and be sure, there are many basic sizes, which are used for many quilt designs. I was VERY impressed with this machine!
Check out their product, here!
I can really see this being used at quilt classes, especially for store owners! Store owners could let their customers “rent” the use of the machine, while in the store!
Happy Quilting!

QUILTING TIPS:
1. save time while making flying geese, after stitching the squares on each end of the rectangle, quickly sew an extra seam 1/2″ from the original seam….you’ll have an extra half-square triangle for another project!
2. use grey or tan Coats all-purpose threads to sew your blocks together.
3. use Clover glass head silk pins, they are longer and easier to see while quilting. They come in white/red packages.
4. program your machine to automatically go to the 1/4″ seam allowance when you turn it on for quick quilting!
5. iron/press after each seam. do not use steam, only spray the seam if it is stubborn. (some fabrics may shrink.)
6. change your needle after each project.
7. position your fabrics right sides together, when cutting strips, that will be sewn together, this will give you a shortcut when ready to sew!
8. use an Ott lite positioned behind the sewing machine to have a clear view of sewing.
9. keep a small Olfa cutting mat and rotary cutter near the sewing machine to cut off “dog ears” while sewing.
10. stretch while sewing to keep from getting tight muscles!
Happy Sewing and Quilting!
Denise
